THE HISTORY
A loving home started with the dream of various people when in the church they attend help was asked by a governmental social worker to take care of 2 little children that had been abandoned by their parents. We all know that there are many children that are in the same situation, but when you find yourself confronted with a situation like this maybe that is because you can do something about it. Then you have 2 options: you either think it was a coincidence, or you make the decision to do something about it… for this group of people it touched their heart and they get together and form the board of directors of this organization.
The dream was concreted in a Project in April 2003, and today we are a legal non profit organization.
From this moment on the dream is shared with the local community and a group of volunteers actively participate in A Loving Home.

WHO WE ARE
A Loving Home is a non governmental and a non profit organization, created with the objective to help those who need it most: orphans, abandoned or mistreated children to provide them with a shelter, a place where the will be loved, a place that becomes their home.

THE PROJECT
* 20 homes: Cost of construction per home $390,000.00 pesos
ß Furnishing $250,000.00 pesos
Each home will have 3 bedrooms: 2 bedrooms for a maximum of 8 children plus one bedroom for the tutors.
* Main building: Costo of construction for the building $2’200,000.00 pesos. It will have:
* Food & beverage storage plus refrigerated room. $ 120,000.00 pesos
* Kitchen and kitchen equipment $ 250,000.00 pesos
* Dining room with space for 250 people $ 180,000.00 pesos
* 2 rooms for workshops equipped with chairs, tables and materials $ 100,000.00 pesos
* Library $ 90,000.00 pesos
* Medical supplies $ 50,000.00 pesos
* Doctor’s office $ 50,000.00 pesos
* Administrative offices and front desk $ 65,000.00 pesos Ä Family Gardens
Areas will be destined to do family gardens, where they will cultivate their vegetables, not only to provide food for each home, but as well as to promote the environmental education in the community.
* Recreacional and sport areas
* multiple use field.
* Chamber for dry and humid waste $ 190,000.00 pesos
* Gardens $ 410,000.00 pesos
* Residual water treatment sistem (organic) $ 400,000.00 pesos
* Hydraulic sanitary installation
* Concrete tower with elevated water reservoir $ 500,000.00 pesos

ACHIEVEMENTS
. 5 hectares of land located at 22 km north of Playa del Carmen, 17 km from the 307 highway and 5 km from a rural road.
. Topographic study.
. Design of the location of the project.
. Preparation and cleaning of the land.
. Material to fill up the land.
. Construction of 4 houses.
. Construction of the foundation of the service area.

$ 35’000,000.00 million pesos
Note: This is without considering the cost of the construction of the sport and recreational areas, the installation of the hydraulic sanitary facilities and the family gardens.
